Officials were stunned to find an 11-foot, 340-kilogram alligator kept illegally in a Florida home. The reptile, named Albert, was reportedly allowed to swim in an in-ground pool built by its owner, who also allowed members of the public, including children, to pet the giant creature.

The owner, Tony Cavallaro, affectionately called himself Albert’s father and emphasized that the Crocodiles are like family to everyone. However, it was revealed that Cavallaro’s license to own Albert’s had expired in 2021, and despite attempts to renew it, he was unsuccessful.

Even more shocking was the revelation that Cavallaro had invited neighborhood children to swim with Albert, ignoring the inherent dangers of such interactions. Officials stressed that it is illegal to keep an alligator at home, regardless of licensing status, and that public contact with the animal poses serious risks.

Upon the stroke, Albert was found to have numerous health problems, including blindness in both eyes and spinal complications. Despite this, Cavallaro is fighting to regain custody of his beloved pet, claiming that Albert was well cared for and posed no threat to anyone.

There has been an outpouring of support for Cavallaro on social media, with many claiming that Albert was a kind creature who brought joy to everyone he came in contact with. However, officials remain steadfast in their stance that such reckless behavior cannot be tolerated, especially when it jeopardizes public safety.
